Notes from Annual Meeting - June 2007

A good time was had by all at the June picnic. A big thank you to Tony's aunts who helped with the food and clean up. We started the meeting with a discussion on what Heartland is . Heartland is a group, not a chapter and as such has no voting rights. We do however retain our voting rights as chapters. Heartland consists of Greater Kansas City, Southern Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois. Our membership has tripled over the last few years.

We have a new logo designed by Bryan Stark. It was accepted by a unanimous vote.

We have a new 14ft trailer, which was much needed. Bill and Holly brought it to the meeting so everyone could see it. Sealed bids were taken on the old trailer and Mike Lawrence had the winning bid.

Our new show lights were delivered to Holly and Bill is working on our new light stands.

Dr. Jim Butler was asked to judge the October Field Days and has accepted. Judges for the January show will be Joe Butler and Gene Adcock.

We set up our committees for the 2 Boone shows and for National Show-2008. If you have a question on which committee you are on contact Vicki or Tony.

Christina Stark is the editor of our Heartland news letter. It will be published every 3 months and lots of good information in it for everyone. If you want an ad in the news letter contact Christina.

	There will be a short meeting after the October and January shows to talk about plans for the national Show. Committee heads should be prepared to give progress reports at both meetings. Vicki Merritt Heartland Secretary
